Dr. Phil. Phil the Thrill. Is he a doctor? If so, let's see some credentials. Enough of the smarmy feel-good pandering to the eargerly awaiting throng of people desperate to see other people's lives suck more than theirs.
Really. Telling a parent that her kid has seven of the nine warning signs of a serial killer. Let's not care about the kid. Let's use the kid to get ratings and to get a really cool sound bite. Way to go, Doc.
Really. Counseling Oprah are we? Is she on your diet? Man, I wish Oprah would like me so I could have a nationally televised talk show where I can ridicule sucky people. Would I suck if I did that?
Ok. Dr. Phil brings on people who want to be "stars." I had to watch one day because I was sick and throwing up and I couldn't reach the remote, so I was forced to watch a whole hour of the Thrill. This show was about people who felt that they could be so much more. The first woman wanted to be a country singing star. It was obvious to anybody that she couldn't sing and had no talent. No matter, the would-be country vixen would not hear anything that had to do with her apparent lack of talent. So.....just what is Dr. Phil doing? Does he really care about this lady with a bad voice and a lack of self-awareness? Or is he just using her as a dupe so that he can get better ratings? Well, we all know the answer. That's why we watch. "Who is Dr. Phil going to trash today?" We embrace the suckness of Dr. Phil. We empower his suckness by mindlessly urging him on and on to greater heights of psychological gutting of his own guests.
Am I being too hard on the good Doctor? Maybe. I could have picked Jerry Springer, the former mayor of the great city of Cincinnati! I could have picked the pioneer of bad taste, Geraldo. There are tons of shows out there whose purpose is to ridicule the clueless rubes who willingly line up to be publicly humiliated.
Next time you turn on the TV to watch and laugh, remember....it is you who empower the television purveyors of bad taste.

So you don't like Dr. Phil. Well, Maybe that is because you don't like your self and are scared that if he saw you he might critique you or the way you are. The way I see it is Dr. Phil tells people how it is in reality. He doesn't feel you with bullshit. He lets you have it just the way everyone else sees it but is too cowardly to stand up and say it. I think you are an insecure person just talking crap because you are dissatified with yourself. Stop bad mouthing those you don't know.
buy the way he has many credientials. And no I am not all for doc phil, but I am against people who talk alot of shit about others. I think you need a reality check about yourself and start seeing things in a positve manner. People like you cause hate and jealousy in this world and you should be put in your place. I would love to see what good ol' doc phil would say to you!
Dr. Phil is not extraordinary. There are many therapists/self-help gurus out there better than him, and if it wasn't for Oprah, he wouldn't have become the hottest fad in shrinks.
Oprah does a lot of good, but her head has overinflated and she likes to hear herself talk, kinda like Madonna (why doesn't she disappear?). She has been successful, but I don't care to see her giving out cars that she got cheap from car companies or her new Thunderbird.
I'm not against doing what it takes to improve yourself or Dr. Phil's intentions. I just believe that there are people that are much better than Phil the Thrill out there among the many bad head shrinkers.
What it ultimately comes down to is if the people are willing to make sound educated choices, and listen to professionals instead of wondering why life is so cruel to them when they continually make bad choices.
People should either do what it takes to better themself or realize they could only make a half hearted attempt, quit ponying up the $$ for help. If I tell myself I am serious about positive change, maybe I will believe it after awhile.
